Taking India-Guyana economic and developmental partnership a step further, the Ogle to Eccles portion of the East Coast-East Bank linkage project was officially commissioned by H.E.Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

Dr S Jaishankar, Hon’ble External Affairs Minister of India sent his greetings through a recorded message on this occasion.

In his brief introductory remarks, High Commissioner of India to Guyana, Dr Amit Telang, noted that the road will not only improve connectivity and boost economic growth but will also be a symbol connecting the people of India and Guyana.

India and Guyana share a longstanding developmental partnership in which India has been a trusted partner in implementing many developmental projects. People have always been at the centre of India-Guyana partnership.

As Guyana is experiencing a phenomenonal economic and developmental transformation, India and Indian companies in particular seek to play an important role to further build and strengthen our partnership- connecting people and contributing towards development and progress not only of Guyana but also with our CARICOM partners in the Global South.
