10th anniversary of International Day of Yoga

The 10th anniversary of International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Antigua & Barbuda on 21 June 2025. The High Commission of India, represented by Hon. Consul of India in Antigua & Barbuda, Shri Vijay Tewani, organised the celebration in collaboration with Heart & Stroke Foundation and Cricket West Indies.

The event at the prestigious Coolidge Cricket Ground witnessed enthusiastic participation from Government of Antigua & Barbuda with prominent dignitaries including Hon. Minister E.P. Chet Greene (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Hon. Minister Charles Fernandez (Minister of Tourism & Aviation), Hon. Minister Daryll Matthew (Minister of Education, Sports & Festivals), and Mrs. Paula Frederick Hunt (Permanent Secretary, Government House).

Other dignitaries included members of the diplomatic corps, Yoga enthusiast and cadets from the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force.

During the event, prominent dignitaries including Hon’ble Foreign Minister Mr E P Chet Greene, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism Mr Charles Fernandes and Hon’ble Minister of Education & Sports, Mr Daryll Matthew appreciated the expanding partnerships and cooperation between India and Antigua & Barbuda and also underscored the contribution of Yoga towards building peace, harmony and mutual understanding besides promoting physical and mental health and wellbeing as part of #YogaForOneEarthOneHealth
