Viksit Bharat Run – Georgetown (Guyana) : 28 September 2025
High Commission of India in Georgetown, Guyana, hosted the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation” as part of Seva Pakhwada celebrations on Sunday, 28th September 2025. The run aligned with Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
Speaking at the event, High Commissioner Dr Amit Telang highlighted the theme of the Viksit Bharat run as an initiative to spread a message of sustainability, environmental conservation and global peace. He also expressed gratitude towards Government of Guyana, CARICOM Secretariat, various Sports Federations and community organisations for their support to the initiative.
Around 200 participants took part in the run of about 4 kilometers, which included representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports, Government of Guyana, CARICOM Secretariat, Guyana Blind Cricket Association and Guyana Football Assocation. Representatives of Indian companies, Indian students from Medical Universities in Guyana, Indian community and diaspora also enthusiastically participated in the event.
As a part of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi ji’s ’Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, 5 saplings were planted in the National Park to spread awareness about sustainability, environmental conservation, and global peace.
