Discussions with UN and other multilateral organizations

High Commissioner hosted representatives of various UN and other multilateral organizations based in Guyana on 11 June 2025, underlining our close cooperation and partnership with the UN organizations in various initiatives being implemented jointly in Guyana.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presence of H.E. Dr Denzil Douglas, Foreign Minister and former Prime Minister of Saint Christopher (St. Kitts) & Nevis. In his brief remarks, FM Dr Douglas highlighted the partnership between India and St.Kitts & Nevis. Amb Jean Kamau, UN Country Representative in Guyana also addressed the gathering and underscored India’s partnership and support to various UN representatives. Hon’ble Gillian Smith, Country Representative of FAO also delivered brief closing remarks and reiterated the desire for closer and deeper partnership for implementing various multilateral initiatives.

High Commissioner expressed his gratitude for the support extended by various UN organizations and emphasised that the collaboration with the UN office in Guyana for the forthcoming #InternationalDayofYoga on 21 June would further reinforce our shared values of global peace and mutual understanding as we commemorate #YogaForOneEarthOneHealth.
